The ibotta app is now available at Harris Teeter!

The new ibotta app that is available for the iPhone, iPad and Android phones now includes Harris Teeter as one of the participating stores! The app allows you to earn cash back for groceries and more.


Here are the details from the app download page. The first step is to download the ibotta app from their website.

"Here's how it works:

1. Before shopping, choose your offers. The more you choose, the more cash back you'll earn.

2. Go Shopping. Buy your chosen products at any of the major retailers that Ibotta supports.

3. Take a photo of your receipt. We'll verify your purchases and credit your account right away.

4. Get your cash. Yes, real money, loaded onto your PayPal account or donated to any school in America."

Participating stores: Ibotta works at many retailers including these stores in our area: Harris Teeter, Target, Walmart, Kroger, CVS, Walgreens.

You can increase the amount of your offer by doing different (easy) activities like taking a poll, liking the company on Facebook or reading a recipe. 

Once you redeem your first successful offer, you'll receive an extra $5 in your account as part of their referral program!

Like discounts, the money does not come off at the register.  It is deposited into your Paypal account. You will need a Paypal account to get the money.  If you prefer, you can also donate the money to a school of your choice. 

Big benefit: You can use the ibotta savings in conjunction with manufacturers coupons and e-coupons so you can stack a number of different savings avenues.

If you use ibotta, please share your experiences. This app does require a little extra work as far as taking pictures of the receipts but that doesn't take long at all.

    I just learned why I couldn't get the correct stores to show up in the app. Apparently, this app doesn't work with ipad2 (what I'm using) or ipad4. :(

    At least Nancy they responded to you. I have sent multiple emails over the last week and have yet to hear back. There was an updated version that downloaded today but I haven't had a chance to try it. It must be that they just don't like our name.

    I got a response from ibotta that didn't help:

    "Thank you for your email, and I apologize you have been having difficulty getting the app to work properly. I have sent your particular issue to the development team and will send you another note as soon as I hear word back from them as to what the issue may be. Thank you very much for your patience.

    The payout was really quick. The amount showed up in my PayPal account within 10 minutes plus I also received an extra $5.00 for going through an "invite"~not really sure how I did that but I will take $5.00. I also switched my SavingsStar over to PayPal so I can track both of these at the same time.

    I just uploaded my receipt but I had to take two pics because the receipt was so has to show as well as the # for each item purchased. I wasn't prepared to take a pic of the bar code of each item as well as I didn't see anything in the instructions about time, I will bag all ibotta items in the same bags and keep them out until I am ready to scan....first trip included $7.75 but I also saved more due to savingsstar and also EVIC coupons plus manufacturer coupons on the items I bought.

    Now let's hope senioritis doesn't kick in and I can actually figure out how to use the app!

    scoutmom - same here, app is not allowing uploading of receipts, nothing happens when you click on the upload option. I fired off an email to them too and attached a photo of today's receipt. They could crash and burn if they don't start addressing the problems.

    I have been waiting a week for them to get back to me about a problem I have uploading for redemption. I have not been to impressed thus far, I have over $19 of redemptions I would like to get back.

    Yep - I voted for it too - they ahve really good customer response. Just make sure you enter in your password correctly on your phone or it locks you out! LOL. Yes, I know this from personal experience! :-)
