GJan1 - it's wonderful that you were able to find good stock at the Outer Banks HT!

  • GJan1 Apr 16, 2016

Just returned from Outer Banks. Yes, I did SD × 2 days. They were amazingly better stocked than anywhere else I had ever seen. In High Point if you don't go at the Crack of dawn on the first day you are not getting any freebies or the other really good deals and Winston-Salem is not much better. Holly Springs is better at restocking during the sale. I've not been there , Holly Springs, 1stday Crack of dawn. But, whoa! Count our blessings. Cashier and fellow couponer said no SD there in summer!

vlynn - great advice on the rain checks! The Fuquay HT (Main St location) was also out of Gain last night. :-(

  • vlynn Apr 16, 2016

NSTUTT another idea for rain checks: I always check to see if HT is out of any sale items that I might use, when I stop by. Even if I don't have coupons for the item, or it's not super doubles, because I may be able to use the rain check at a later date. Sometimes, especially for the friday evic items, I stop by late on Sat or Sun hoping they will be out of an item, just so I can get a rain check to use at a later super doubles event.

It is in the 4/3 PG insert. A lot easier to find than the actual product.

Where is this gain coupon you speak of?

  • nstutt Apr 15, 2016

VLYNN, thanks for the info. I have mostly rainchecks for food although I got one for the Gain today.

  • vlynn Apr 15, 2016

NSTUTT re rain checks: I get them for dental, make-up, paper products, kitchen stuff, baking stuff, cleaning stuff, frozen meals, ice cream/bars/pops, skin care, eye drops, etc. I don't get a lot of baby or kid related stuff. Coupons go in cycles of 6 to 12 weeks, so you might have to wait through a few super doubles before you can get a coupon for an item to use during super doubles that you have a rain check for. This time I used a lot of cleaning rainchecks: finish, palmolive, dawn, oxi clean, ones: ice cream/bars, frozen meals, potato chips, breads, etc. I also plan to get rain checks for items that are out of stock beans, oatmeal, tide, etc I also get coupons from the newspapers, magazines, and printables, so I have a larger variety to choose from at each super doubles.

  • nstutt Apr 15, 2016

YLYNN, what items are you using rainchecks for? I have rainchecks for things like Planters peanut butter and 8.7 oz. Kix cereal, neither of which they stock anymore. Then I have a whole assortment of coupons for things in which coupons are no longer available. And trust me, every time a Super Doubles event starts, I go over all my rainchecks and then painstakingly go through each and every insert that is still in date looking for coupons to match up with. Very rare that I can find any. i.e. Hershey's Simple Pleasures is one from a couple years ago that there has never been a coupon for since. Am I missing something here?

The laundry evic is really strange - some got Gain, not Tide, and vice versa. I got Tide 'and' Gain!! Was able to pick up my Tide this afternoon.
