There's a new consignment sale in Wake Forest this season and it's partnering with a local run that's raising money to feed hungry kids.

Lullabies to Mud Pies Kids Consignment Sale is Sept. 14 to Sept. 18 at Heritage View Clubhouse, 1037 Marshall Farm St., in Wake Forest.
It's a project of two local moms, Lena Gott and Valerie Bolick. The two are working with The Buddy Run to raise money for Backpack Buddies, a local project that Go Ask Mom readers have probably read about before. It gives food-filled backpacks to needy elementary school students whose families aren't able to provide adequate food to them. The food helps sustain them over weekends and longer breaks when school meals aren't available.

The Buddy Run, a 5K, will begin and end its race right in the sale's parking lot on the evening of Sept. 16. About 300 families are expected to participate in the run, which also includes a two-mile Roller Run, a one-mile Family Walk, the Itty Bitty Buddy Dash, a bounce house for kids and the (always popular) Kona Ice truck.

There are a variety of ways to shop this sale before the general public. You can consign items; volunteer; register as a pregnant or first-time mom; barter your services such as referring friends or handing out fliers; and bringing food to donate to Backpack Buddies. Lullabies to Mudpies is donating 10 percent of its fall sale proceeds to benefit the Wake Forest and Rolesville chapters of Backpack Buddies.
