Raleigh, N.C. — On Wednesday, classes will resume in new locations for students at Vernon Malone College and Career Academy in Raleigh after floodwaters from Hurricane Matthew filled the halls.
This week, crews worked to remove the water while contractors began to assess the damage, but floodwaters are still preventing students from entering the building.
Administrators have been contacting families about relocation changes since Monday.
A message posted on the school's website said 9th and 10th graders will be relocated to the former Wakefield 9th Grade Center in Wake Forest. Juniors and seniors will be spread out in four different locations, and all bus plans will remain intact.
There is no word on when the building will reopen
