RALEIGH, N.C. — Additional charges of indecent liberties with a child were filed Thursday against a former coach and educator.

The charges – three counts of indecent liberties with a student and one count of sexual offense with a child – are part of the ongoing investigation of John Peter Skatrud, 41, of 103 Mantle Court in Raleigh, a Wake County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said.

Skatrud, who coached volleyball at North Carolina State University and for the Capital City Volleyball Club, was working as a physical education teacher at Yates Mill Pond Elementary School at the time of his first arrest in February. He was indicted two counts of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of indecent liberties with a student in March.

A Wake County judge on Friday consolidated Skatrud's cases and reduced his bond from $1 million to $150,000. Skatrud posted bond Friday morning.
