RALEIGH, N.C. — A new bar is opening this week in downtown Raleigh's Glenwood South district.
Parliament, 322 Glenwood Ave., will officially open to the public Thursday at 9 p.m. It is located next to the Rockford. Regular business hours, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. daily, will begin Friday.

The bar is a collaboration between Jason Howard (The Cardinal and Brooklyn Heights) and Isaac Hunter's Hospitality's Brad Bowles, Ben Yannessa and Zack Medford.

The bar's name is a play on the French word "parlement," which means "to talk."

Howard and Bowles designed the space to take advantage of its position in the center of Glenwood South. There are big bay windows and Juliet balconies that overlook the street.

The venue also includes pieces from local artists Clark Hippolito and Alec Chambers.
