RALEIGH, N.C. — We've all been there - waiting for your bartender to close out your tab or the server to bring your bill, then take your credit card. The process is often slow.

Well, the days of waiting might be coming to an end.

A new app called TabbedOut offers customers the chance to close out a tab and pay restaurant bills securely through their smartphones. The free app is available for Apple and Android products.

TabbedOut lets you review your bill, add a tip and pay in minutes.

Not all Triangle-area restaurants are participating, so you can't use it everywhere.

Currently, Mr. Wonderful's Chicken and Waffles, Mosiac Wine Bar, High Park Bar and Grill and Plates Kitchen are among the local businesses participating.

Would you use this app to pay your bill? Or do you prefer the old-fashioned way?
