Nena Springs Wildfire in Warm Springs grows to 16,800 acres; 15 homes evacuated

Fire officials say the Nena Springs Wildfire on the north side of the Warm Springs Reservation continues to grow and several homes have been evacuated.

WARM SPRINGS, OR — Fire officials say the Nena Springs Wildfire on the north side of the Warm Springs Reservation continues to grow and several homes have been evacuated.

The fire is estimated to be about 16,800 acres.

Level 3 Evacuation notices have been issued for 15 homes on Highway 3 in Simnasho. Level 2 Evacuation notices have bent sent to 40 homes in the Schoolie Flat area, according to fire officials.

No homes or other buildings have been lost.

The Red Cross has set up an evacuation center at the Warm Springs Community Center.
