Need diapers, snacks, flips flops in downtown Raleigh? Check Dollar General
A new Dollar General opened a month or two ago at the corner of Blount and Davie streets. The store is about two blocks from Marbles Kids Museum and across the street from ArtSpace.
Posted — UpdatedFile this one away for the next time you're in downtown Raleigh with kids and have run out of diapers, snacks, drinks or are dealing with a broken shoe (I've been there) ...
Small ICEEs are $1. Fresh fruit cups are $2. A pack of size 3 Pampers are $10. A pair of flip flops are $2 - or two for $3. There also are wipes, all kinds of crackers and snacks, bottled drinks, coffee, some packaged foods and just about anything else you'd find at a typical Dollar General.
I love the fancy restaurants and high-end coffee shops that are opening up around downtown. But it's nice to see something practical open up where you can find things you actually need and don't have to break the bank just to get a snack for the kids. You could even run a quick errand here after a trip to Marbles.
