Need a Gun-Locking Device? Just Ask Chapel Hill Police

The Chapel Hill Police Community Services Division received a shipment of gun-locking devices from Project Childsafe, a national safety education program funded by the U.S. Department of Justice and the firearms industry.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — The Chapel Hill Police Community Services Division received a shipment of gun-locking devices from Project Childsafe, a national safety education program funded by the U.S. Department of Justice and the firearms industry.

The gun-locking devices are free to the public on a first-come first-served basis and can be picked up at the University Mall Police sub-station on Estes Drive.

Project Childsafe is a nationwide program to help ensure safe and responsible firearms ownership and storage.
