LINCOLN, NE — he Nebraska State Patrol tweeted a note of thanks after the total solar eclipse brought in visitors by the hundreds of thousands.

The note reads:

Dear Nebraskans and Eclipse Visitors,

For weeks we've been urging people to be prepared, have a plan and give yourself extra time to reach your viewing site. You did. Thank you.

This was like five Husker Gamedays at the same time and spread out all over the state.

Troopers were on the roads and in the air to help out and local law enforcement did a great job as well. Thank you for your patience and for attention as your drove to and from your viewing site.

And specifically to Nebraskans: Thank you for representing our state to our guests so well.

Sincerely,

Your Friendly Nebraska State Troopers
