— A North Carolina State University student suffered minor injuries Thursday evening when he was assaulted by two people during an attempted robbery on Fraternity Court, according to police.

Officers from N.C. State police responded to the area at abut 9 p.m., and investigators said the student was assaulted while two suspects attempted to take his cellphone. A weapon was implied by the suspects but not seen.

One of the two suspects was taken into custody by campus police, and the other was last seen headed toward Varsity Drive on foot.

The male suspect was wearing a hooded sweatshirt, athletic shorts and tennis shoes, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident should contact the N.C. State Police Department at 919-515-3000.
