NCSU resident reports awakening to burglar in his apartment

North Carolina State University police responded to an emergency call Tuesday from a resident who said he awoke in his campus apartment Tuesday morning to find a stranger standing over him.

RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina State University police responded to an emergency call Tuesday from a resident who said he awoke in his campus apartment to find a stranger standing over him.

University police sent out a warning on its “Wolf Alert” notification system to inform campus of the crime, which happened about 6 a.m. The man, who lives at Western Manor apartments on Avent Ferry Road, said the stranger in his apartment rifled through his personal belongings before leaving. No weapon was displayed. The alert did not state whether any items were taken.

The resident called police about 8:30 a.m. to report the burglary.
