NCSU police warn of sexual assault

North Carolina State University police issued a warning after a female student reported a sexual assault late Tuesday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina State University police issued a warning after a female student reported a sexual assault late Tuesday.

Police said a man approached the student while she was walking near Thomas Hall, at Yarborough Drive and Deriex Place. The man tried to put his hands down her pants, but she was able to fight him off and get away, police said.

The man was described as white, with a light complexion and medium build, about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and dark shoes.

Police said he was last seen on foot near Thomas Hall.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call NCSU police at 919-515-3000.
