print friendly

North Carolina Central University authorities locked down campus for about an hour early Saturday after a shooting at a home in the 600 block of Dupree Street, near the north end of the Durham campus.

The Eagle Alert system was activated at 12:40 a.m. after officers took one person into custody and worked to determine if other people were involved in the shooting. The lockdown was lifted an hour later.

The victim's gender and name were not released, but NCCU police said one person was taken to Duke University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No other information was immediately available.
