ASHEBORO, N.C. — The entire North Carolina Zoo will reopen Saturday.

Zoo officials closed the Africa Region after a microburst with high winds and hail brought down dozens of trees and caused other damage Aug. 6.

Exhibits in the zoo’s North America Region, along with Dino World and the Aviary, reopened earlier this week.

The zoo charged half price for admission while only half the facility was open. Full admission price will return Saturday.

“Our staff has worked diligently to clean and remove all debris that was inside of exhibits, on service roads and trails throughout the park. The safety of our visitors, animals and employees is always our first priority,” zoo director Dr. David Jones said in a statement.
