NC Wanted: Robeson County family waiting for answers about missing daughter

More than a year after her disappearance, the family of Sara Graham is still searching for answers.

ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. — More than a year after her disappearance, the family of Sara Graham is still searching for answers.

On Feb. 4, 2015 in Robeson County, Graham’s white van was found in a field off McDonald Road in Fairmont, but the 18-year-old was nowhere to be found.

“There were no signs of struggle,” said Robeson County Sheriff Kenneth Sealey. “The vehicle looked like it was just pulled up there and parked, and the vehicle was locked when we arrived.”

Graham is the daughter of Robeson County deputy Hubert Graham.

“He’s [Hubert Graham] upset as a father would be,” Sealey said. “I'd be if it were one of my children … very upset.”

Investigators say Graham left her home in Fairmont around 6:30 a.m. on the same day she went missing, headed to work at the Walmart in Pembroke.

Her father’s van was found six hours later in the field off McDonald Road, only five miles from her home.

“We brought approximately 30 officers down here,” said Jay Devane of the Fayetteville Police Department. “We’ve got a K-9 team and brought some different resources; our search and rescue team as well. Just some different resources we could provide to assist them in their search or this missing lady.”

Graham is originally from Texas but had been living with her father and stepmother since September of 2014. Investigators say they have no reason to believe she would run away.

“There’s been no trouble with her dad or stepmother,” Sealey said. “Everything was going good. [It’s] very unlikely for her to do this.”
