GARNER, N.C. — A Garner woman is still struggling to heal after her son was murdered in 2013.

A day doesn’t go by that Tamira Anderson doesn’t think about her son Torrey. The former Garner High School student’s body was found outside his burned out car in Newport, Va. on Feb. 12, 2013.

‘He was born at 11:32 at night and there has not been a day that I have not seen 11:32 on a clock, on a piece of paper or anywhere so I just take that as a sign from him,” Anderson said.

Police said the 21-year-old was likely shot somewhere else and driven to the area where he was found. Anderson said the family won’t give up until an arrest is made.

‘I have great family. We have a great support system. We have faith in God and that’s why we won’t give up,” she said.

The past three years have been painful for Anderson, with constant reminders of what she has lost. One Valentine’s Day, she found a ring at a concert with an eerie significance.

“I got my first tattoo ever; it was his name with wings and these were the wings, the same exact wings and I thought ok, it’s my Valentine’s Day present from Torrey.

The ring fit Anderson perfectly as one more this bonding a mother to her son.

“We had a special bond; mother and son, that was us,” she said.

Anybody with information in the murder of Torrey Anderson should call 1-866-439-2683.
