NC Wanted: Family of former Marine searching for hit-and-run suspect

Gordon Hargrove—a former Marine bound to a wheelchair—was hit and killed by a tractor trailer in Henderson on Oct. 21, 2015. The driver never stopped.

Authorities say Hargrove as hit on East Andrews Avenue in Henderson while on his way to the store.

Ironically, the incident was similar to a previous accident that put him in the wheel chair 37 years ago.

“He was walking down another street here and the transfer truck hit him and disabled him,” Elliott said.

Elliott said her brother was a simple man and a joy to be around.

“Some people need big things to make them happy,” she said. “My brother was the type of person you could give a Coca-Cola and he would be happy.”
