NC volunteers help in wake of Isaac

Volunteers and staff had delivered temporary shelters and clean drinking water to the Gulf Coast community and were anticipating the arrival of trucks filled with tarps, chainsaws and other equipment to help the residents clean up and recover from the storm.

Brent Graybeal, the Louisiana program manager for the charity, said he had met with pastors to determine the areas of greatest need.

"They need to know God still loves them, and it's going to give us an opportunity to come alongside local churches, to partner with them," Graybeal said.

Volunteers will help remove wet flooring materials, put tarps on homes that had wind damage and cut up and remove downed trees and debris.
