UNC, NC State campus police make arrests in dorm burglaries

Campus police at North Carolina State University charged a Durham man in a pair of burglaries at students residence halls.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Campus police at North Carolina State University charged a Durham man in a pair of burglaries at students residence halls.

Curtis Louis Sangster, 44, faces charges of breaking or entering, burglary, attempted burglary larceny.

Surveillance video showed a man entering unlocked rooms early Aug. 16 in the Avent Ferry Complex and at Syme Hall. Students reported having their wallets stolen, but no one was injured.

Sangster was being held on $1 million bond.

The University of North Carolina also announced an arrest Friday in a series of Aug. 20 burglaries at Ehringhaus Residence Hall. 

Thomas Dusek, 18, is charged with first-degree burglary and larceny. Dusek is not connected to the university, campus police said.
