FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — The police chief in Fayetteville is offering people who possess an illegal firearm to give them up without the threat of legal action.
Chief Harold Medlock is offering amnesty to anyone who will lay down an illegal firearm. It's part of the city's effort in taking a stand against violence.
Medlock says anyone with an illegal weapon can police to retrieve it with no questions asked, or they can surrender it in the faith-based community.
