NC NAACP President honored for service

Supporters celebrated the work of Reverend William J. Barber, II in a Community Celebration Service Saturday in Goldsboro.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. — Supporters celebrated the work of Reverend William J. Barber, II  in a Community Celebration Service Saturday in Goldsboro. 
Barber, the state NAACP President was honored on the anniversary of 20 years in ministry and 30 years in activism. 

Rev. Barber currently serves as Pastor of Greenleaf Christian Church, President of the North Carolina NAACP, Member of the National NAACP Board of Directors and Chair of the Legislative Political Action Committee, Chairperson of the Rebuilding Broken Places CDC, Convener of the Historic Thousands on Jones Street People's Assembly Coalition  and Co-Convener of STOP the Funeral Initiative among other community and national efforts to build a more just and equitable society.
