NC Highway 50 in Garner reopens after wreck

Authorities closed all lanes of N.C. Highway 50 near Ten-Ten Road in Garner for about an hour Thursday morning due to a wreck involving a tractor-trailer and a Honda minivan.

GARNER, N.C. — Authorities closed all lanes of N.C. Highway 50 near Ten-Ten Road in Garner for about an hour Thursday morning due to a wreck involving a tractor-trailer and a Honda minivan.

Emergency personnel were called to the 3700 block of Benson Road at about 6:15 a.m. after the burgundy van ran into the side of a tractor-trailer.

The driver of the minivan was airlifted to WakeMed with serious injuries, Johnston County officials said. The driver of the tractor-trailer was uninjured.  

No information about the cause of the collision was released. 

The road reopened at about 7:30 a.m.
