NC adds 100,000 in latest Census estimates

North Carolina's population grew by almost 100,000 between July 1, 2012 and July 1, 2013, according to the latest estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau.

RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina's population grew by almost 100,000 between July 1, 2012 and July 1, 2013, according to the latest estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The addition of 99,696 people statewide during that time brings North Carolina's population to more than 9.8 million, making it the 10th most populous state in the U.S.

North Carolina has added 288,000 people in the last three years.
