The N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh is looking for a few good parents to take part in its new Parent Forum.

Museum leaders hope forum members will help them determine new ways to support families as they engage in scientific exploration. Parents and guardians from Wake County and surrounding areas will have the opportunity to provide input and feedback on the museum's services and programming.

Forum members will:

  • Provide feedback on current program offerings
  • Evaluate special events, 3D movies, permanent exhibits and traveling exhibits
  • Explore areas for future growth
  • Generate suggestions for lobby redesign
  • Address other topic areas as needs arise

Members would serve for two years, attend six meetings during those two years and sometimes review materials, offer feedback and participate in email surveys. Benefits include two free movie passes to the WRAL 3D Theater; a discount on museum memberships; a special program for members and their families after the two years; and snacks and drinks during the meetings.

Applications are due by Friday, Oct. 16. Applicants will be informed of selection by Wednesday, Oct. 21. The museum's website has an online application.

Contact Christy Flint, Coordinator of the Micro World Investigate Lab, at 919-707-9294, or Debbie Huston, Scheduling Coordinator, at 919-707-9840, with questions.
