— A National Guard soldier is facing charges in Wake County.

Briana Caldwell, 22, is accused of stealing more than $10,000 worth of computer equipment from the National Guard while on duty.

A spokesperson for the National Guard says Caldwell stole the computers then sold the equipment for cash.

The computers and money have been recovered, the spokesperson said.

Caldwell was out of jail Monday evening on $3,000 bond.

Her rank in the Guard was not immediately available.

How everyone assumed this young lady was an officer I don't know, she was a Non-Commissioned officer (NCO). Not all of us officers are bad and most of us may have done our share of good to help out those who accomplished the mission with us! Happy Veterans Day for all!

Well, now it is NOT an officer, good, but rather an EW.

    Southern Fried Yankee

It's good to see you're not bitter. Even though I do share some of your views regarding officiers in general, keep in mind they have a whole different set of rules that govern their behavior.

What they fail to process is military rank structure and chain-of-command affords operations being maintained without officers but NOT without Enlisted and NCO's.

Thanks for your service to our great nation.

Back in the day, when I was a low-life scumbag beer-drinking, woman chasing enlisted sailor we didn't have much use for officers....

Now that I am an honored veteran held in high esteem for my past service to the nation, I see nothing has changed my mind about officers.

    Happy Veteran's Day!
