National Guard rescues dog from waist-high flood waters

On an inspection at Princeville Elementary School Superintendent John Farrelly captured a canine rescue on camera.

PRINCEVILLE, N.C. — On an inspection at Princeville Elementary School Friday, Superintendent John Farrelly captured a canine rescue on camera.

Army Specialist Tim Smith and Sergeant First Class Timothy White swam and waded in water up to their waists to reach the black lab.

"I'd want somebody to do it for my dog," White explained simply.
