Nashville Man Convicted in Girlfiend's Death

A Nashville man has been convicted of first-degree murder in the slaying of his girlfriend.

NASHVILLE, N.C. — A Nashville man has been convicted of first-degree murder in the slaying of his girlfriend.

Freda Medlin, of Nashville, was killed on Sept. 1, 2005. Her body was found in a ditch alongside a road.

Passersby thought Medlin had been hit by a car, but authorities said she was shot.

James Stallings confessed to the shooting, authorities said.
