Nash slaying suspect arrested

— A man wanted in a fatal shooting in Nash County this weekend was arrested Tuesday in Franklin County, authorities said.

Eusevio Salazar-Mendoza faces a first-degree murder charge in the Saturday shooting death of Corrello Ramiro at 7942 Buck Road, just south of Castalia. Details of the shooting weren't released.

Salazar-Mendoza was found in a wooded area in the 300 block of Cheeks Quarter Road, southeast of Henderson and north of Louisburg, according to the Nash County Sheriff's Office.

He was placed in the Nash County jail without bond. He was scheduled to appear in court Thursday.

    These types of articles used to read that "ICE has an immigration detainer" on the suspect or that officials were looking into the legal status of the suspect. I'm curious as to why that seems to be omitted these days.

    could it be that there isn't an immigration detainer on this person?? why would you assume there is?
