A 41-year-old Middlesex woman died late Thursday after a drive-by shooting on Old Middlesex Road, the Nash County Sheriff's Office said. 

<b>MIDDLESEX, N.C.</b> — A 41-year-old Middlesex woman died late Thursday after a drive-by shooting on Old Middlesex Road, the Nash County Sheriff's Office said. 

According to investigators, Portia Hinnant was hit by a bullet inside her home about 10 p.m. She died at the scene. Two other people inside the home at the time of the shooting were not injured.
