<b>ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.</b> — Part of North Carolina Highway 97 in Nash County was shut down Friday night while firefighters battled a house fire.

The fire was reported just before 6:30 p.m. at 9607 E. N.C. Highway 97. Flames spread through the home, several storage sheds and barns on the property, Nash County Fire Department spokesman Chris Bissette said.
