The N.C. Zoo is offering a special admission deal this month for adults who donate non-perishable food.

Starting this weekend and continuing until Dec. 31, the zoo is offering its children's admission price of $8 to adults and seniors who contribute two cans of non-perishable food per person. All canned items collected during the month will be donated to local food banks.

Regular zoo admission is $12 for adults and $10 for seniors age 62 and up. The zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., daily, this time of year (closed Christmas Day only).

The zoo in Asheboro is about 90 minutes from the Triangle. Check its website for details.
And don't forget about the Museum of Life and Science deal for select days in December and January that I wrote about earlier.
