N.C. Zoo closed through Wednesday because of weather
The zoo was closed all of last week after windy conditions and then ice made it unsafe for visitors. It sits about 90 minutes from the Triangle.

The N.C. Zoo in Asheboro is closed through at least Wednesday because of the snow and ice.
The zoo was closed all of last week after windy conditions and then ice made it unsafe for visitors. It sits about 90 minutes from the Triangle.
"To continue ensuring the safety of zoo visitors and employees, zoo officials will continue to monitor weather conditions," press release says. The zoo's website will be updated with daily operational information.
