N.C. State student reports robbery, assault

North Carolina State University police are searching for two men accused of robbing and assaulting a student early Monday.

RALEIGH, N.C. — North Carolina State University police are searching for two men accused of robbing and assaulting a student early Monday.

The student reported that two black men approached him as he walked near Western Manor Apartments off Avent Ferry Road around 12:15 a.m.

The men drove up in a white vehicle, got out and used a handgun to take the student’s backpack, wallet and cell phone, according to police.

The men then left in the vehicle and were last seen traveling south on Avent Ferry Road. One of the men was dark-skinned, approximately 6 feet 2 inches and had no facial hair. The second man was dark-skinned and approximately 5 feet 6 inches.

Both men were wearing red jackets with black patches.

One of the men used his fist to hit the student in the face, police said. The student was not seriously harmed.
