Museums thaw out, reopen after winter weekend

Triangle area museums are operating on a scaled back schedule because of the winter blast this weekend.

Here are their schedules:

Marbles Kids Museum and its IMAX theater in downtown Raleigh will open at noon, Tuesday.
The N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences and the N.C. Museum of History in downtown Raleigh will open at noon, Tuesday. The science museum's Secret World Inside You is fun for grade schoolers and up. The history museum's free Discover Your Governors is a quick and educational stop.
The Main Building at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham will open at noon, Tuesday. Among many other exhibits, you'll find the museum's pop-up exhibit Frozen Over, which is fun for younger kids.
Kidzu Children's Museum in Chapel Hill hoped to open at its regular time today. Check its Facebook page for updates.
