— Detectives issued a first degree murder warrant Wednesday for the arrest of 28-year-old Artesia Ann Taylor, who is wanted in the shooting death of a 22-year-old woman, Cumberland County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Debbie Tanna said.

Erica Rose Matthews, also of Fayetteville, was found lying on the ground in front of a home at 2963 Driver St. in Fayetteville shortly after 6 p.m. Tuesday. She had been shot and left for dead when detectives arrived on the scene.

Matthews was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she later died.

Taylor, of 203 Trace Avenue in Fayetteville, is armed and dangerous and should not be approached, authorities said. She is described as a black female, about 240 pounds, 5-foot-1 with black hair and brown eyes. She also has the name “TEE” tattooed on her left forearm.

Anyone with information about Taylor’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Watch Commander at 910-323-1500.
