— Raleigh police charged a Cary man with second-degree murder Monday in the June hit-and-run death of Natalie Chidlaw.

Adetoye Taoheed Adekanmbi, 33, of 103 E. Chalfont Way, was arrested at his home Monday. He also faces two counts of felony hit-and-run and one count of driving with a revoked license.

His bond amount was not immediately released.

Chidlaw, 18, died after she and her friend, Meghan Clark, also 18, were hit by a sedan on Hillsborough Street near Dixie Trail on June 15.

Thanks for the info, michaelacfp. I hadn't read that before (did I miss it?), but that definitely puts things in better perspective.

I know lots of African immigrants. Most are very hard working, educated, intelligent people who are a blessing to our country. I have no problem whatsoever with them, as most are here legally and are working hard.

This guy, not so much. He killed a living person and drove off. He should be prosecuted to the full extent. I imagine that his family and fellow immigrants are very disappointed in this one.

HeBlessesMe, you are the exception rather than the rule.

reel4fun....I am truly offended by your post. What does his being black and coming to this country have to do with him "acting like a criminal"? I'm black, so do you assume I act like a criminal too? In case you're wondering, I work a full time job and highly educated, and have not been in trouble with the law. So your post, is actually rather ignorant. Should I assume you are trash from a trailer park? But I wouldn't do that because it would be ignorant of me. Think before you hit add comment.

WRAL, I truly believe this comment should be removed, as it is very offensive to ALL races

This man should be put to death for what he's done.

Charge him with everything, convict him, toss him in prison, then if he makes parole, deport him. If he serves full time, and gets out, then deport him.

Foreign guy convicted of DUI, license revoked, hits victims, kills one, and runs. He ought to be deported. But his gf will (or did) marry him after this incident to give him legal resident status. He doesn't deserve to be here.

    Hey Jackleg,

The guy killed Natalie and then drove off without stopping. The prosecutor was unable to charge him with 2nd degree murder until he accumulated the evidence to justify the charge. By the way, he tried to flee the country initially (on the first charge and the low bail) and that is why he received the following charge of using his vehicle as a weapon in connection with hitting Meghan.

I'm really hoping that justice prevails for the family.

This guy should obviously be in trouble if he did it, but why is the state of NC charging him with essentially the same thing 3 times? This is the third arrest, meaning he was out on bail twice already for this. Insane.
