Murder charge filed in fatal Raleigh crash

Police have charged a Raleigh woman with murder in a head-on collision last weekend that killed a man.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police have charged a Raleigh woman with murder in a head-on collision last weekend that killed a man.

Latisha Nivcole Dixon, 33, of 4116 Mindspring Drive, was southbound on New Hope Road on Sunday morning when her Dodge Stratus crossed the center line and collided with a Hyundai Sonata near Rock Quarry Road, police said.

The Sonata's driver, Terrance Tyreek Smallwood, 22, died at WakeMed from his injuries.

Dixon, who was initially charged with driving while impaired, also has been charged with felony death by vehicle.
