— A local man was charged Thursday with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a man following a Tuesday assault, police said.

Joshua Lee Davis, 21, is being held in the Moore County Jail on a $5 million bond pending his first court appearance on June 28.

Joshua Davis, 21 was arrested for 2nd degree murder of his father, Lee Marcus Davis. They were argueing and got into a shoving match in the yard. The son Joshua pushed his father & he fell back hitting his head on the brick, knocking him unconscience. He died as a result of this, but was an accident. Yes they were fighting, but the son never thought that this would possibly kill his father. This family has now suffered a double loss. The loss of their father & oldest brother is being convicted of murder for a stupid misunderstanding...

I wonder why WRAL even put this in the new's with no more information than they have?? This leaves ALOT of information out! AWDWIK, upgraded to Second-Degree Murder... This could be anything really, and the only thing it show's is that SOMEONE died.

When you read a story this butchered, on a subject so simple, just think about what WRAL does when reporting complicated subjects. Think Dan Rather. Oh yeah - reporting at its finest.

Joshua Lee Davis (the man charged) is the son of Lee Marcus Davis .

Seems that the typos make it sound like both were named Davis. 5M Must be related to the president! Sounds like anger management classes are coming soon. Wonder what made him that mad

Was it the mayor's son this person killed. I've never known of a bond that high. think maybe that could be a typo too? Wouldn't that be the same as denying him bond because not many can post that much. It's not even first degree

crazy that a five sentence story can have a typo. is this journalism at its finest or what?

$5 Mil... just means they want him to stay in custody. And that's fine by me!

5 million dollars bond - ouch. The guy from Hope Mills charged with 2nd degree murder only had a $101,000 bond. Guess it doesn't pay to do crime in Southern Pines. I guess more will be revealed.
