RALEIGH, N.C. — It may feel chilly this weekend, but highs could reach the low 70s by mid-week, according to WRAL meteorologist Aimee Wilmoth.

Temperatures were in the 20s Sunday morning, but highs for the day will be in the upper 50s.

Current Temperatures, DMA

"We'll be mild today but even milder tomorrow," said Wilmoth. "We'll come up to 63 degrees on Monday afternoon, and then 69 on Tuesday."

A system to the west will bring some gray skies and sprinkles to the Triangle Sunday evening and early this week, but Wilmoth said substantial rain will hold off until Wednesday.

"We may have a couple of sprinkles on Monday and Tuesday, but nothing major," said Wilmoth. "We'll then have some cooler temperatures with the rain on Wednesday."

7-Day Forecast

Thursday and Friday will be dry, with temperatures in the 50s, and then Saturday will warm up again, with highs in the 60s and another chance for rain.
