Motorcyclist killed in Raleigh wreck

A Raleigh man was killed in a motorcycle wreck at the intersection of Cross and Star streets on Tuesday, police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man was killed in a motorcycle wreck at the intersection of Cross and Star streets on Tuesday, police said. 

The wreck happened just before noon when Robert Glenn Hines, 46, tried to stop his motorcycle on Cross Street. The motorcycle went airborne and crashed into the side of a house at 201 Star St. Hines died from his injuries. 

Police said the front brakes appeared to not be working on the motorcycle. Hines was not wearing a helmet.
