"Jeans - it's a fallacy to believe jeans offer any protection. They'll shred immediately. Get a pair of leathers or better yet, kevlar. "

this...jeans can actually make road rash even worse.

Condolences to the family. And, we don't know all the facts, but speeding, and not wearing a helmet. But, this is a instance where a person made a decision to speed and a decision to not wear a helmet.

    "Helmet, jeans and boots."

Helmet s/b full-face or modular to protect the jaw area (google Hurt Report)

Boots - make sure they have CE approved ankle protection

Jeans - it's a fallacy to believe jeans offer any protection. They'll shred immediately. Get a pair of leathers or better yet, kevlar.

The right protective gear can make a difference between living and dying. ATTGATT - All the gear, all the time.

Wow...as a new owner/rider this shows me more and more how careful I need to be. Please be careful out there. And even if we didn't have the helmet law I'd still most likely wear it. Helmet, jeans and boots.

Yes, it's happening way too often. I was hit about a month ago on my motorcycle by a guy that ran a red light. I've been riding for 26 years accident free up until that day. It's a risk you take when you throw your leg across the seat.

I love to ride motorcycles, but this is happening way too often. People, please be careful out there. I hate that another family is suffering the loss of a loved one. My prayers are with you all.
