Motorcyclist killed in Nash County wreck

Posted — UpdatedBATTLEBORO, N.C. — A motorcyclist died after hitting a tree in Nash County on Wednesday night, the North Carolina Highway Patrol said.
Laverne Edwards, 64, was traveling on Battleboro Avenue when he drove off of the road and hit a tree. Investigators believe he was speeding and not wearing a helmet
Edwards died at the scene.
The wreck is under investigation.
