Motorcyclist killed in Cary

Around 7:15 p.m., a car traveling northbound on U.S. 1 and a motorcycle from Cary Parkway making entry to US-1 collided, Cary Police Capt. Michael Williams said.

Motorcyclist killed in Cary
CARY, N.C. — A motorcyclist died after a wreck involving a car on U.S. Highway 1 in Cary on Friday night, police said.

Around 7:15 p.m., a motorcycle entering the highway from Cary Parkway collided with a car on U.S. 1 North, Capt. Michael Williams said.

The motorcyclist, Amy Grisham, 42, of Cary, was transported to WakeMed, where she was pronounced dead.

No one in the car was injured.

The cause of wreck remained under investigation on Saturday night.

At one point, all lanes of U.S. 1 were closed while crews worked the scene. The highway was reopened by 12:30 a.m. on Saturday.
