Motorcyclist dies in wreck after chase
A motorcyclist died in a wreck shortly after speeding at more than 100 mph in a chase by Henderson police last Friday night, state troopers said Thursday.
Posted — UpdatedTroopers said that an officer tried to stop Douglas Jermaine Russell, 33, of Henderson, but he refused to stop and led police on a high-speed chase. Police called off the chase when Russell crossed outside the city limits.
Shortly after, Russell veered left of center on Stewart Farm Road, and his 2010 Yamaha motorcycle struck the front left corner of an oncoming 1999 Ford passenger car, troopers said. Russell was thrown from the motorcycle and died of his injuries.
Russell was traveling 110 mph at the time of impact, and the Ford was going 45 mph, according to the wreck report.
The Ford driver, Ricky Alfonzo Fuller, 44, was not injured. Troopers cited him for driving with a revoked license.
