Raleigh, N.C. — State troopers arrested a motorcyclist Saturday night following a chase from Knightdale to Raleigh that reached speeds of 140 mph.
Ruben Mondragon Araujo, of Wilson, was charged with speeding, driving without a license, failing to stop for police, driving left of center, running a red light and reckless driving. He was treated at WakeMed for minor injuries and placed in the Wake County jail.
Troopers attempted to pull over Araujo on the U.S. Highway 64 bypass near Smithfield Road, but he didn't stop. He led authorities on a high-speed chase that ended when he lost control on U.S. 64 business (New Bern Avenue) in Raleigh around 10:30 p.m., troopers said.
