— Fayetteville police have charged a woman in connection to the critical injury motorcycle incident that occurred on Owen Drive Saturday.

Shanelle A. Fickling, 37, of the 2100 block of Hyde Place in Fayetteville, has been charged with failure to see before turning. Fickling was driving a 1998 Nissan Altima at the time of the crash.

The wreck closed Owen Drive in Fayetteville between Southern Avenue and Gillespie Street Saturday night.

Authorities said Robert W. Johnson, 27, was driving a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle outbound on Owen Drive when he collided with a sedan turning left on Owen Drive.

Johnson was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he is currently listed in critical condition.

Anyone with information regarding the crash should contact officers with the Fayetteville Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 910-433-1830. The investigation is ongoing.

Point taken, but the skills learned at MSF courses can keep you alive.

I've been a street rider since I was sixteen (36 years now...) and you have to ride like everyone out there is intentionally trying to kill you and every edge helps.

How does a MSC stop a fool from not looking before making a left turn. Stop trying to profiteer off the victim of this crime. The rider did ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong and their is no way to avoid someone pulling out in front of you without looking and signaling.

Shameful and disgusting, how about mandatory 5 year suspension of driver's licenses for any at fault accidents that cause serious or critical injury. That's a step in the right direction.

Most drivers in nc could use a corse that teaches motorcycle right of way ! cause drivers in nc sure don't know & act aggressive with motorcycles with no respect for life ?
