Motorcycle driver killed in Wilson accident

— The state Highway Patrol was investigating a fatal motorcycle accident in Wilson on Thursday.

Troopers said the driver of the motorcycle was trying to pass a van on Radford Road, near Lucama, when the van driver turned left.

The driver of the motorcycle, Desmond Jones, 18, was killed by the collision. His passenger was transported by helicopter to Pitt Memorial Hospital. The person's name was withheld.

The driver of the van, James Ray Boswell, 51, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. His three passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Troopers had not said if they would file any charges were filed in wreck.

    i know the people that was in the van everyone of them and i also vol in wilson as an emt and i know that is not the road to be speeding on due to deer and other stuff IE curves and bumps but if you are making a left hand turn and you have a motorcycle coming up on you at a high rate of speed you cant see them things all that well during the day time anyway but when you are going over 80 mph it looks like a blur going by so i dont see why MR james should be charged if he is i dont think it is right.
