Mother charged with stabbing 4 children, husband to death makes bizarre court appearance

Atlanta, GA — A Loganville woman accused of stabbing her husband and four of her kids to death behaved erratically during her first appearance hearing on Friday morning.
Isabel Martinez, 33, smiled and shook her head no as the judge read her charges against her. She also told the judge she didn't need an attorney.
"My attorney is the people that we're fighting for," she said. "You are the hope of the world, each one of you."
Martinez is facing six counts of aggravated assault, five counts of murder and five counts of malice murder for the stabbing murder of her husband Martin Romero, 33, and children Isabela Martinez, 10, Dacota Romero, 7, Dillian Romero, 4, and Axel Romero, 2.
She's also being held for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Martinez is also accused of stabbing 9-year-old Diana Romero, who survived the attack. As of Thursday evening, she was in stable, but serious condition in Children's Hospital of Atlanta.
Martinez asked to represent herself during her trial. She'll be back before the court for first appearance on July 20.
