— A 34-year-old Morrisville man was arrested and charged with attempted murder Sunday for firing an AK-47 assault rifle through the front door of his apartment.

Travis Daniel Willson, of 1327 Langstonshire Lane, is also charged with two counts of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling for firing 23 rounds into two apartments, an arrest warrant said.

Investigators believe Willson was trying to kill someone, according to the warrant.

Willson, whose first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday, remained in the Wake County jail Monday under no bond.

Good post. "Reasonable regulation" is anti gun people's speak for one step closer to total confiscation and elimination. They will never be satisfied with anything less and they will never be honest about it.

"They already had permits for Utah and SC, but when it came time for the shooting test, they had NO idea how to even load their revolvers! I was appalled." - matt_wood

My wife and I previously had concealed carry permits from another state, that didn't require any type of training, shooting, classes, etc. While I was a long time shooter, my wife wasn't, so I signed her up for classes and took them along side her. I'd like to see a Federal conceal carry license, valid in every state. But I also think we need to make sure people are trained in handling and carrying firearms. Even the North Carolina class needs to be more in depth, especially in regards to scenario training.

EXACTLY! I took the CCH class the other weekend, and there was this couple in there that had just moved to NC. They already had permits for Utah and SC, but when it came time for the shooting test, they had NO idea how to even load their revolvers! I was appalled.

"Still no doubt the NRA will put this one down as another "defense action"." - Grand Union

While I'm not a NRA member, no doubt that will characterize this as criminal and negligent behavior.

The problem is that they have to be far to one side, to counteract how far the opposition is to their side, such that we meet in the middle. I don't have a problem with more REASONABLE gun control laws. But as the vocal anti-gunners out here have made it known, they want something close to a full ban, and see each new gun control law (even those not needed) as a stepping stone to that ultimate goal.

"another shining example of responsible gun ownership......." - heelhawk

I've been a responsible gun owner for over 40 years. Ever read a news story about me doing something illegal with my gun? Nope! Now multiply that by the millions of others you haven't read about. :)

I too, read this and thought the same thing. Here is this dude that shoot 23 rounds from an AK47 assault rifle into two apartments and Investigators 'believe' he was trying to kill someone. LOL. Really? Do you think? Duh.

As much as I believe your correct the article does say AK-47 "assault rifle" which by definition is only a full automatic rifle, well ok selective fire capable of full auto operation. I wager that the author of the article is incorrect.

Once again the omniscient anti gun master has spoken. If you don't know what you are talking about it would be best not to show your ignorance.
